I've always been interested to see how people bashed their hats back in the day. Bored at work so I decided to google and found these photos. It's not easy to find vintage photos of birds-eye view of people wearing hats! Please share old photos that you might have. Sorry if there's already a thread on this.

There are a few Vivian Maier ones that are wonderful.

You can't always see the full crease but they sure are inspiring.

This is so cool.....I think they can be truly and accurately called "bashes" much more so than my studied and symmetrical creases!!!

The third photo from start of pics is awesome. A sea of fedoras and homburgs. I think those guys just ran out of Robert's house after ransacking his hat closet.

Birds eye is fine. More interested in crowns from the top then pinches from the side.

Not exactly birds-eye but high enough to see the crowns.

BTW 30 cents for a t-bone steak! Now I want steak for lunch
