lol This one's for Carebear. From Stanley Kubrick's film, Full Metal Jacket:

Gunnery Sergeant Gerheim: "Does anyone known who Charles Whitman was?"

---------------------------(Blank faces.)

Gerheim: "None of you knows?"

---------(Private 'Cowboy' slowly raises his hand.)

Gerheim: "Private Cowboy?"

Cowboy: "Was he the guy that shot a lot of people from a roof?"

Gerheim: "That's right, Private Cowboy. He shot and killed twelve people from a 28-story observation tower at the
-------- University of Texas, from distances of up to four hundred yards. Does anybody know who Lee Harvey Oswald
-------- was?"

--------- (Almost every hand goes up.)

Private 'Snowball': "He shot Kennedy, Sir!"

Gerheim: "That's right. And do you know how far away he was?"

Snowball: "It was pretty far. From that book suppository building, Sir!"

Gerheim: "Two hundred and fifty feet! He was two hundred and fifty feet away and shooting at a moving target. He got
-------- off three shots with a bolt action rifle in six seconds, and got two hits, including a head shot. Do you know where
-------- those men learned to shoot like that?"

---------(Private 'Joker' raises his hand.)

Joker: "In the Marines, Sir?"

Gerheim (with great pride): "In the Marines! Outstanding! Now those people did not put their Marine training to a good
-------------------------- purpose but they showed what a Marine with his rifle can do, and before I am through you will
-------------------------- all be able to do the same thing."

Please keep it clean!

Guys, everyday, I have to come into this thread and clean it up. Please keep the curse words out of it. Dashes and spaces substituting for vowels are unacceptable.

Thanks, I sincerely appreciate it.

The Lady Eve:
Henry Fonda: You're certainly a funny girl for anybody to meet who's just been up the Amazon for a year.

Barbara Stanwyck: Good thing you weren't up there two years.

The Awful Truth:
Irene Dunne: You're all confused, aren't you?
Cary Grant: Aren't you?
Dunne: No
Grant: Well you should be because you're wrong about things being different because they're not the same. Things are different except in a different way. You're still the same, only I've been a fool... but I'm not now.
Dunne: Oh.
Grant: So long as I'm different don't you think that... well, maybe things could be the same again... only a little differnt?

Maltese Falcon:
Bogie: The cheaper the crook, the gaudier the patter, eh?

After the Thin Man:
Myrna Loy (on the train): Are you packing?
William Powell (with flask): Yes dear. I'm just putting away this liquor.

Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn from Charade:

Reggie Lampert: I already know an awful lot of people and until one of them dies I couldn't possibly meet anyone else.
Peter Joshua: Well, if anyone goes on the critical list, let me know

So many great lines from that movie, too many to list here, ok one more,

Reggie Lampert: You're blocking my view.
Peter Joshua: Ohh... which view would you prefer?
Reggie Lampert: The one you're blocking.

Wow, there are so many great lines this thread could go on and on...

This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship

We'll always have Paris.

Of all the gin joints in all the world, why did she have to walk into mine?

Go ahead, pull the trigger, you'll be doing both of us a favor.

This oughta take the sting out of being occupied.

Toto, too?

Oil can. Oil can what? (Dialog, not a single line, sorry...)

I don't ever want to kiss you goodbye.

Ah, lamour, lamour!

No thanks, I'm trying to cut down.

"Positively the same dame!" ("The Lady Eve, 1941, Barbara Stanwyck, Henry Fonda) uttered by Ambrose Murgatroyd - William Demarest.

For me, this is a far superior last line than "Some Like It Hot's," "Nobody's perfect."

'There's a name for you ladies...but it isnt used in proper society, outside of a kennel.' :)
Joan Crawford in The Women...many immortal lines in that movie:

"I've had three years to grow claws mother...'Jungle Red'!"

" I used this cream...it brought on a rash."

"Our new one piece lace foundation garment...zips up the back and no bone!'
