Good point, but sharing information is rather essential in a free market economy, don't you think? I'd rather 'pay' for the knowledge of a nice piece, than miss it altogether.

Rather silly rule really and I am NOT the vendor.

Whilst more interested parties might drive the price why is an auction the preserve of those fortunate enough to land upon it? This is the first belt back I have seen in 18 months on the particular categorisation I use on eBay to check auctions.

Well, I think the rule is silly for the reason it is in place. But I do support the ban because I don't want to see this become a place for dealers and others to try to get more publicity for their auctions. (not saying you) but in general, thee are many people who would love to be members just to use this forum for that purpose without having anything to offer, and clogging up the threads with self promotion.
