Belt back - 1940s? - for sale on UK Ebay

I know there are lots of you out there who like belt-backs .... there are 2 days left on eBay. Currently at £16 - I guess the price will be rising soon.

I love the stripes on this one.

Those scalloped pocket flaps, along with the long center vent, button stance, lapels and belt-back without pleats/action back make me think late '60s.
Take a look at the '60s beltback thread.
And here are two I have, both '60s, and both very similar to that one.

That said, that is a pretty interesting fabric on that one.

The vendor has listed it as 1940s, to me the main interest are those fantastic stripes.

That jacket is styled a lot like a belted back jacket I have that was virtually unanimously adjudged to be from the 1960s. I had the scalloped flaps reworked so they didn't look western -- they're straight across now.

Mine does have an action back, though.

yep, that is a late 60s jacket. seems like a well intentioned mistake.

The main clue that shows this is definitely not a '40s jacket are the lapels, they're very high, oddly shaped and lack a buttonhole. I have learned that center vents indeed existed on belted backs prior to the '60s and I have also seen examples of '60s belted backs that have pleating and such.
