I have a couple from this company. They are both western but even with that style the felt feels much better than the average commercial hat. I have been thinking about giving them a try as Duane seems to think that they are building a good product as of late.

I'll let you know as soon as mine comes in. It's been 5 weeks and 3 days, not that I'm counting.

I ordered a fawn Open Road style hat, in their Heritage felt, with an open 5 3/4" crown.

Checked out those Beaver Brand Hats and kind of like them! There's an open crown chocolate brown 7 inches high, looked good. Then I noticed in the larger picture that the ribbon has no bow, just a piece that constricts the ribbon where the bow would be. H-m-m-m. Haven't seen that before.

Dean,

Look at some of the other pics - they seem to make every style of bow you can imagine. I think you just have to specify what type you want in your order.

Now that's customer service! ;)

I have my eye on one of your custom hats myself. I may have to take the plunge soon...

I just wanted to know a little about the hat I just purchaed!

Thanks everyone. I didn't mean to stir up any controversy here. I just wanted to know a little about the hat I just purchased on our favorite auction site. I knew I had come across it before, but couldn't put my finger on it. Anyway, this is what I just purchased. For a grand total of $38.71 including shipping. This is about 1/5 of what this hat retails for new.
I'll give it a try.

Hey Duane hey how are you doing? I was trying to find my title on here about a white cashmere overcoat, but maybe I can ask you or anyone else that wants to answer my question. My question is if they do make a white cashmere overcoat? I saw it in the movive SuperMan Returns and Lex Luthar (Kevin Spacey) had on this really nice white cashmere overcoat!

Black Beaver Brand western with trimmed down brim and reshaped crown. The felt is thick and dense and it makes for a nice conversion.

This felt is a lot different from any Stetson or Resistol I’ve handled. Too bad they went out of business.

A new-to-me Beaver Brand OR Clone sold originally at the Westerner in Flagstaff, AZ. Tan/beige color with a 2 3/4 bound brim. The stamp on the sweat says Imported White Fur and the cellophane on the liner, and the gold liner itself, is in perfect condition as is the 1 3/4 sweatband. There is no information under the sweat, only the remains of a square white sticker, probably a price tag or something of the like. I did not find anything under the edge of the liner either. It is a rather lightweight hat (I was surprised) and the felt is smooth. I don't want to over-sell this one; it is a really nice hat, and it far exceeds the modern Stetson 6X I sold to find a replacement, but it is not in the same league as the 3X's or equivalent Resistols.

Enjoy. (Sorry, I have lots of shadows on the indoor pictures.)

Excellent, sir. This one has no model name or number that I can find (it does say Custom Made on the size tag - don't know if that is real or just marketing). My tape says 4 5/8 finished crown. There is a very, very faint part of a circle ink stamp on the inside of the sweat but it is really more like a "splotch" of ink, so that really does not help much either.

The sweatband tie bow is an interesting plumb color with raw cut edges.

The clone list has a Beaver Brand "River Runner" listed but no other info. I'll add this one with your measurements as a separate unidentified model to my list.

I drew a blank on trying to find what White Fur meant.

Great hat, Randy. I’ve come across the “White Fur” designation a few times, but I’ve never read a satisfactory explanation.
