If you ever get a chance to set down and have a beer with Brooks...
ask him what he thinks about a certain hatter from Virginia ....

Graham Thompson [ owner Optimo Hats ]
Richard Bean [ Winchester Felt ]

We got to met a couple of amish gents from Indiana... both were pretty neat to talk to.
They were trying to start a hat operation in their settlement. The older gent was able to get a finger blocker.
Here is a shot that the younger man was in.

Man... I have to say we had a ball!!!!
It was sad for Beaver Brand to close.
But it was cool to see some hatters get some great deals!!!!
And it was fantastic to connect to some good friends!!!

This was all I was able to take.....after all...we had to load up!!!!

Plus the trailer has boxes of ribbon and also two 55 gallon plastic cans full of ribbon. Today when I unloaded the truck, started looking in a few boxes some what, and there is all kinds of colors of ribbon and widths, It was hot as you know what up there this past weekend. But it was all worth it for all the ribbon and equipment I got and seeing some of the guys I have meet over the years. Richard the 30 plus hat equipment go to person will be coming down on a weekend when I am ready to set up one of the finger blockers and a few other rare machines I got.

Us here at The Brass Rooster had seriously considered making the trip to the auction. Seems I really should've talked my boss into it, there looks to have been some great stuff there.

Wow is all I can say. At least the equipment didn't go to a certain person in VA . I wonder who got all of those neat lining dies?

They were selling those in the back while I was in the front bidding on all the ribbon, they had two auctions going at the same time all day, made it tough a little to be in two places at the same time, so Rusty would be at one and me and the other, he had the green light to bid $$$$ on items I told him I wanted or he could call me on the walkie - talkie and I would come to where he was.

It was a ton of stuff, and the equipment did not go to a certain person in VA,
