Blame the idiots who whine about paying the TV licence when they don't watch the beeb for pushing Auntie to pander to ratings. This went out opposite some celebrity rubbish... The Beeb is now saying they might have a part funding deal on the table with lovefilm or similar. I hope so.

I had seen the love film deal as possible. Netflix does this also.
Stupid reality TV is such a sucky thing to watch. We have a big Duck Dynasty flap going on now. Another waste of time show

Just finished the first two episodes and I am really enjoying. Fun, steampunk feel, kinda like how those Guy Richie Sherlock Holmes films should have been.

I'll have to give this a second chance.
Upon viewing it last Saturday, the wife and I just couldn't get into it.
This from 2 people that have seem 95% of the Mystery Science 3000 movies.
We're used to British period dramas (Life On Mars and Ashes To Ashes), as well as shows like Granada's version of Sherlock Holmes.
I don't know, initially it just didn't take.

I must say I was extremely unimpressed by the second series, having been a great fan of the first. Like many such historical series it became a bit too samey for my liking, and I could generate absolutely no interest in the soap opera aspects they were trying to develop. I enjoyed the beginning of the second series - maybe the first three episodes or so - but after that I lost interest and stopped watching.

I have seen the first episode of Ripper Street yesterday.
I had never heard about this show before reading about it here.

I like it, so thank you all.
