That's very funny in a macabre way.

Since I always image kneeling and taking a bullet to the back of the head, I guess the analogous imagery is a pizza slice resting on the bottom third of its folded-under self with a a gun being pointed at the top back of its crust.

I always picture the "top" of a slice as the point, the crust as the bottom.

I always picture the "top" of a slice as the point, the crust as the bottom.

Your view makes better sense and makes for better imagery. Hence, I revise my answer to the pizza is now folded a third up from its crust kneeling on its cheese side down with a gun pointed to the crust side of its point.

Glorious weather the past few days, although many may disagree with my idea of glorious. Rainy, cloudy, and cool. Bliss! It has lifted my spirits immeasurably.

Not all the time, but a cold, grey, wet day can be just the ticket - very "Dead Poets Society" or manning the lighthouse. Makes going out feel invigorating as the wind and wet bite at you and staying in feel "secure."

If I could have cloudy days 4 out of 7 days, I'd be a happy girl. I think I should move to England or at the very least, Oregon or Washington.

So much for me talking about Autumn. It's nearly 6pm and still 25 degrees here (no idea what that is in 'F'!). I've just got in from work and have changed out of horrible work clothes into linen top and shorts. I'm really not used to this!

If I could have cloudy days 4 out of 7 days, I'd be a happy girl. I think I should move to England or at the very least, Oregon or Washington.

I have a friend who's visiting London right now and she said it was miserable yesterday!

I was in England last October and the weather was *perfect.* Couldn't have asked for better. If money was not an object, I'd travel to England every year. I've been there three times and it's still not enough. (And not just for the weather, of course! )

Britain might be a small island but in a 20 mile radius there can be every season in one day! It doesn't surprise me that it was miserable in one place and sweltering only a few miles away. It's one of the things we do well! I am a little bit proud when people say they love England/Britain. We do have a lot. An American friend said it was because in just one day you can do countryside, beach, mountains and city!

⇧ Well, as an American who has never been to England, I still feel a great kinship to England. No England, no America.

I know it's out of fashion today to respect anything our countries did in the past, but I still do - and I fully acknowledge all the flaws and bad things - but no country has a past that stands up to today's standards.

So, in my small brain, I judge it in the context of its time and for that, England - its Empire, its industrial revolution, its parliamentary system, its Anglo-Saxon capitalism, its incredibly long, complex and successful history, its ability to hold through it all in WWII (and then fly shoulder to shoulder with us in the Berlin Airlift) - flaws and all (warm beer - really?) - is a country I'm very proud to say is our progenitor.

25C is 77F, perfect motorbike weather! we have been in the 70s most of this week, feels great!

Wow Fading Fast, you know more about British history than a lot of people here! When I think of 1920-1930s I think of America with prohibition and the jazz age and swing. Probably due to media I can picture it much better there. When it gets to the 1940s I think of Britain in WWII, tea dresses and resourcefulness to overcome rationing!

Stearmen I hadn't thought about that! Ours is still under a tarpaulin after we moved and can't easily manoeuvre it from back garden to road. Or rather it takes two of us a good few minutes of shouting and swearing to push it down the side of the house and then there's the fear it won't fit back!

It was 96 degrees here yesterday and humid. Today, it's supposed to hit 93. I am miserable. Go away, summer!
