It's also the number of politicians it takes to screw in a light bulb. Bill W. told me so.It’s a saying from the rooms of AA.

If it's natural straw you should have no problem. Paper straw can do strange things, like get lines that look like a run in women's stockings. It seems there will be a random fiber that absorbs moisture much different than most. Thanks Hat, my missus said that would have a go at doing that and if it doesn't work, or the hat is damaged, she will arrange for Santa to bring me a new one. Result!
The story of my life.I exited and deleted Tapatalk. So you're just throwing good kin after bad.
Sounds like a good project for you. You could probably sell the book. I'd buy a copy.Hello, people. Need the list of all Stetson Fedoras with pics, please.
Wondering if anyone can help me i.d. this hat? I thought maybe stetson whippet but the bow isnt quite stetson but i may be wrong. Thanks yall!
Best i could do is this shot and a front shot, just something i found searching for OR pics. The profile felt similar to me but i know nothing about hat identification or history. Sorry im not helping my own cause but thank you for the responseWe’ll need photos of the liner, the sweatband markings, and any labels behind the leather sweatband. Detailed high resolution photos are very helpful.
The binding looks too narrow to be a Whippet. The Stetson Whippet is the most misidentified vintage hat out there. Whippets are decent hats, but their popularity/price is not in proportion to their quality.

Especially since it appears to have a "normally" flanged brim in the back. Curious. My gut feeling on that one is custom or reworked vintage. The flat-ish brim with almost a pencil curl looks distinctly unlike most stock dress hat flanges.
That looks awesome Scotty! I hope mine turns out similar. However, my fedora is a darker color with a dark brown crown ribbon. Thank you for the photo!

I just talked with the restoration place and they are going to match the brim ribbon as close as possible to the color of the felt. Thanks for all your help!Thank you, and that's why I asked for a photo. As you have not stated the color of the hat, it will be difficult to form an opinion on want you want to do.
So I've been wondering about how a bowler is/was manufactured that is different than the typical fedora to give them the solid crown and stiff brim?
