Lots of obscure crests out there. This from a little beater I picked up last year. The replacement sweat cost more than the hat.

I’ve been doing the same thing for a year on one i have. I don’t know HOW many times i’ve grabbed that sucker to compare to something i’ve seen. Maddening, just maddening!!
Funny thing is i know it’s a Resistol because of the tags, but the crest!!!

I found a Stetson also having an Eddie Bauer stamp on the liner. Is there anything inherently collectible about these hats?

Not really. I have an LL Bean/Stetson hat and there's nothing special about it, although the older renditions are better quality than modern iterations.

I've been looking for a hat exactly like the one in the picture: front pinch, flat brim, golden straw color, the weave of the straw is exactly like I want, available in small, so I have a chance of having it fit (I'm 6 3/4-67/8). Everything about it is perfect except: it's $150 for a toyo straw hat. I just can't justify paying so much for toyo straw. Does anyone know of any hats similar to this one? Thanks.

Toyo/paper straw with thick weave like that runs $20 at Walmart, BiMart and the local farm store, Wilco.

For $150 you can get a nice Panama hat or 2 or 3 Sunbody palm leaf hats.
