Was yhere a 3x Stratoliner made?
Have never seen even an advertisement that a 3X was offered for Strat's.
They were low cost models for active folks.....
Was yhere a 3x Stratoliner made?
Stretching a hat from size 7 to 7 3/8, would a professional hat maker be able to do this or is the size difference too much and would ruin the hat? Thanks
It's been pretty slow in general recently Scooter. I would guess a lot of the regulars will be around more once the temps drop and fur felts become more wearable. That's the way it usually seems to go anyway.
There are always some people who move on (Goose as an example of a guy who I really liked reading on here that's no longer around) and new people who join up.
Im sure this has been asked and answered MANY times, but Im a newbie here! I was wondering if there was a site (or link from here somewhere) that would give all of the construction terms/descriptions for mens hats. Ok, I know the crown and the brim, but that is IT. Welt..? Huh? Different types of sweat bands..? Really? So I guess that I am asking if there is a "Basic Fedora Terminology for Dummies". If not, one of you should write it, cuz Id buy it! Whats all this Beaver XX? Ok, Im just gonna walk away from that one... Bobbi

I have searched the lounge for an answer to this question with no luck - what does a "15" (not 15X) marking on a Resistol western sweatband mean? The marking is next to the retailer's logo. I own a number of vintage Resistols, including a Diamond Horseshoe, but have not come across one with just a "15" stamp. I suspect that it may be an older hat, it has the Resistol Western lining, but the liner is red with a gold logo. Any info on the 15 marking or a guess as to the age is appreciated! (I have posted this in the Resistol Roundup, but thought I would try here too)
Thanks!

I have an odd question for ya:
On a #52 hat Block, about how many inches do the sides go straight up before they break into the dome, and also, what degree of taper are the front and the back (ballpark)?
Throw in a CNC router and a few trees, and bing-badda-bing, you got a hat shop!I can't answer unfortunately, but it does bring a thought to mind. With CAD and 3d printing, it should be super easy to replicate old blocks if only the right people could be connected.
