Not really a question, but an observation:

I just returned from a couple days camping with my family. I wore my hat from when I first crawled out of my sleeping bag until it was dark. The entire day. I then realized that there are lots of days when my hat is worn from my house to my car, from my car to my office, maybe out to lunch, and then home again. There’s lots of days my hat of the day isn’t on my head for more than a combined 20 minutes. Anyone else have the same experience?

YES.....but not weekends...LOT's of head time on weekends! I think during the week when we cannot/do not wear our hats as much, it is do to a thing some call work...or something like that. I call it "the great inconvenience"... It is really to bad we have to go out in the real world to make money....o_O;)

Not really. At least a beater is there, almost always, and a big car provides lots of space for a small head hatted.

I'd hazard a guess that's pretty common.

Thinking about all this....I suppose we all could start a "Wear you hat indoors all day INCLUDING work" and get more mileage out of our hats....I have occasionally worked at my desk while wearing the hat (largely because I got distracted before hanging it up) but I always eventually notice it still on my head and it makes me feel like Kolchek (remember that show?) or one of those midnight reporters who never takes their hat off.....and then I do (take my hat off) so I am not them.;)

My long since retired mentor used to call work an eight hour inconvenience in the middle of his day. He always kept life in perspective.

Yes, regularly. More often than not I find I wear mine only during the short walk between our house and my truck, then between my truck and the destination of the moment. If I'm doing something like shopping or attending some form of outdoor event I usually leave it on until I return to my truck, but if I'm/we're visiting with family/friends, dining out, seeing a movie, or doing anything else when wearing it would be inappropriate, it comes off again, usually for the duration of our stay. And I can't wear my fedoras while driving because the back of the brim strikes the headrest, the crown strikes the headliner, or both. As such, sometimes I can't even wear a flat cap or the occasional ball cap while driving because it just doesn't feel right to do so. It seems foolish at times to even bring a hat or cap because it spends far more time off of my head than it does on, but I've become so conditioned to wearing them that it feels odd when I leave the house without one. o_O

Oops...ouch on this one.
I’ve reached up at night in bed thinking i still might have a hat on if that answers the question. I’m rarely without a hat. It’s like a seatbelt....once you get used to it ya feel naked without it.
I grab hats and swap em out all day long cause they’re always screaming... me me me!!
I DO NOT have a hat problem...only a head problem!

Exactly the same for me.

Then when I’m am wearing a hat there’s the inconvenience of finding a place to store it when eating out or attending a function. I can see how they fell out of fashion; not because they didn’t perform a function but because the trade offs weren’t worth their advantages.

I’m not giving up hats, but modern life sometimes doesn’t accommodate them very well.

Anyone here get the navy Wormser in 7 5/8 from eBay? I came close a dozen times but never pulled the trigger. Might regret that.
