Michael, these have great detail. If you look closely at the first pic, her index finger on her right hand on the saddlehorn had a bandaid around the fingertip.

I really like the way Mr. Elwell used the "mist/fog" to "frame" the canoe and it's occupants to draw attention to it/them. I looked at some of his other work, and this seems to be a unique technique for him; perhaps an experiment?

The use of mist & fog is used a lot in paintings involving water & woods to bring focus to the main subject. I like the effect too.
