I was watching John Wayne in She Wore A Yellow Ribbon yesterday, struck by how terrific the navy blue cavalry uniforms looked with the yellow stripe down the side. Lo and behold, Rabbit's already worked that combo into a ribbon treatment (2nd row, fourth hat.) I'm thinking Dove Grey felt. Art- we'll be talking.

Interesting idea, Brando. Are you going to call the new hat the Yellowlegs?

This closeup collage should help seeing the colors of the VS stripes more clearly. The VS Mojave w/ navy ribbon features a VS stripe that almost matches the felt, it's only slightly darker.

Rabbit- thank you so much- If I name the hat at all, it'd probably be something like The Regimental!

Your ribbon treatments are all so well done- I particularly like the Navy/Mojave that I first noticed, but the Charcoal/Red knocks me out as well. I wonder what Navy/Red would look like- any examples out there?.

The yellow I'm imagining is a deep shade of yellow, almost golden. I think that'll work just fine.

A while ago I asked Art if he could make a hat for my wife, I wanted to get one as a birthday present for her. Well, the latest creation arrived today and I gave it to her, even though her birthday isn't for a little while.

This is black ArtLite felt with a really cool silver ribbon.

Art, she loves the style and really likes the floppiness of the brim with the lightweight felt.

Success!!

That black ArtLite felt is fantastic. If ever Art gets any more of this, I'm in line for sure!
