Did you choose the ribbon and binding color? If so, nice choices. The Open Road like dimensions give it a classic look. Very good.

Just an aside thought, would you consider changing the attire of your hat with putting a pug over the ribbon? Is this something that one can do with a milan? Does it put any of the weave in danger?

I just told art to match the color of the natural straw. Well you could do put a pug on this milan but I keep pugs on my other more fedora style milan's
The pug is held on with a small hook on both ends of the ribbon and doesn't damage the straw of the milan at all.

Earlier in this thread I mentioned needing to rush back to the apartment to get there before the main office closed at 5, so I could get the hat.

So I did (rushed back), got the hat, and took pictures. When I looked at the picture of me wearing the hat, you could still see the sweat glistening on my face from the 35-minute walk. So I will re-take pictures of me with the hat on when I get a chance, and post that.

Does the straw look as light in person as the pics render it?

Pretty close Nik it is a natural color. It has a nice tall crown and good flange on the brim.
An when I sit it on the table to take the picture you could see light all the way thru it.
It get's hot here today in the upper 80's so cool is important with hat's.

Here is the ArtLite in Sahara that I received this week:

5" crown (as dented) and 2-1/8" brim.
I had asked for a very conservative ribbon treatment, and Art hit it exactly!
This is my "summer, with a chance of rain" hat.

Very Hard to get the true color of the ribbon, sorta a brn,burgandy,cordovan, it changes color in various light situations,
Just like TWH's Milan plenty breezy.

Che; Grand milan sir. The bit larger ribbon matches the other VS hats, in theme, that are already on your hat rack. The combo is just sweet. I imagine it will be a pleasure to wear out in the warmer evenings taking a special meal with your family by the pretty terrace in your pics.

Honestly your milan is way cool. Between your recent VS milan and Hatter's VS milan I am torn. Like you fellows, and many others, I have ordered a VS milan for the warm days. I love the "Stratoliner" inspired looks (Hatter's with the tall crown is the cat's meow), the dimensions of the whippet styles of old (40's) and the clever bigger ribbons like RJ and now Che's. Love them all and can see wearing them all. I can not have one of each - I am in a quandry. I wear my hats and the milan would get frequent wear each warm week. Needs to by versatile, masculine and yet provide style. Hmmmm..see what all the beautiful hats have done to me. :eusa_doh:
