Ivory hats by Art Fawcett - seen in the afternoon light against the first snow of this season.

I thought that one on the left was felt. Wow, that's a nice weave. Can we get a close up of the weave, please.

Ordinary Guy: Love your whiskey VS. Goes perfectly with your leather jacket and jeans, yet will be splendid with more formal attire.

hollowpond: Glad you settled on pecan. In that light it almost appears light sage. Beautiful hat.

Delectans, you hit the nail on the head as to the color of this hat. A better descriptor of this color would be "Chameleon"! Sometimes it appears greenish, sometimes greyish, and other times brown depending on what I happen to be wearing that day and the ambient light. It is awesome! Another great thing about Art is his ribbons. He picked a ribbon that, while contrasting slightly the color of the felt, shares the same properties of the felt itself. When I first pulled this beauty out of the box the ribbon seemed to be a mid brown, but when you get it in light you recognize that there are also deep olive tones in it as well. Just beautiful!

:arated:I've wanted a whiskey for a long time, but Pecan certainly deserves attention. So many choices . . .

Lincsong,

Here it is - the camera wasnt the best and today we had clouds during the day and snow in the afternoon. Sorry for the blurred image - this was the sharpest of 8-10 photos. The weavecount is 1400+ per square inches.

That whiskey really is gorgeous. I think my next hat needs to be in a shade of brown and I really like both the pecan and whiskey, both are quite nice

With yesterday's arrival my little VS family is up to 7 members, thanks Art! Now I just have to remember to keep them all in rotation so I don't have to deal with the sibling rivalries :)
Next up will be either a Whiskey or a Black Cherry
Starting at the center, then going to 12 o'clock and moving clockwise in order of acquisition
Dark Moss, Rust, Oxblood, Black, Forrest Green, Pecan and Chocolate

Just...incredible...and now you've got one for each day of the week! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

What do you think of the Rust color, by the way? Dark moss would be my first choice, but Rust has that X factor that keeps drawing me to it.

Lloyd thank you for the color palette display, it gives a good indication of relative colors.
Dark Moss, hmm, I like it - I wonder if the color is close to Fern Green in Akubra line.
Oh, and Whiskey, Black Cherry would be good - don't forget about Granite!

Granite doesn't do anything for me, sorry :)

I don't have a fern Akubra but here's a pic of my VS Dark Moss and my Bluegrass Campdraft for comparison.

Hollowpond, moss with a copper ribbon sounds great, can't wait to see it. I think Art still has a few moss featherweights left. The pecan in the group shot has a copper ribbon
