Bought because they looked so great and well done, but unfortunately I have not found one opportunity to justify wearing 12 inch boots in San Diego in the last year. I get stared as it is.
I have tried these on a few times, and i dont think the og owner i bought them from ever wore them either (he made the same mistake, bought these to wear in taiwan and was too hot.) No wear, no aging, brand new.
Argo boots are handmade in japan. These are hand lasted and hand welted boots, super clean finishing and stitchwork. The horsebutt is pleasantly pliable, stretchy and on the lighter side (thank god for boots that go up to your knees!) Catspaw heels and vibram topy soles. Brass nail reinforcements. I think this pattern was made in response to their fellow japanese makers at Clinch and their highliner boots.
These have a pretty accommodating last, comfortable and not narrow, should fit american feet well. Flat soft toe that will collapse beautifully and develop nice rolls on the vamp. One thing worth pointing out, this pattern is minimal so there is lots of expanses of unseammed horsebutt which whill develop rolls all over the place at flex points.
I'm an 11 D/E and these fit me very comfortably. Should work well for an 11.5 D or narrower too. Inside heel to toe measures 30cm and 12 cm across the ball area. Feel free to dm me with any questions.
