Aol?

Seriously. Why does anyone have this anymore. When people use it they are impossible to communicate with it seems. Is it just me?

No, its not just you. I began with compuserve, early 90s and then went to aol mid-90's. Gave it up after a year or two of frustration. Tried mindspring, juno, and a couple of others before settling on yahoo. Been with it ever since.

We switched from AOL to broadband at the time AOL went free. I kept it around for a while not to confuse people. Now, when a business wants my e-mail address, I give them the AOL one so I can keep my real account (Gmail) clean.

Interestingly, my provider gave us an earthlink e-mail address which I never used, and has since dropped it, so I have no e-mail through my provider.

but that is the problem. Truly. Many, many sellers just flat cannot communicate if it is AOL. Well known.
GMail and Yahoo are great. I guess people just do not realize this. It would drive me nuts if I had it thinking I was getting 1/2 my mail.

I believe he means that he uses AOL as a dummy acount that he can give to bussinesses that he doesn't wish to receive any correspondence from. I keep a Yahoo account for that purpose.

I am not talking about spam. I am speaking of someone putting in an order and then the dealer having no way to communicate with the person.
I have dummy accts. also for spam.
