Anyone interested?

Last time I was at the stetson/resistol factory store there were several Stetson Pinnacles (the beaver version of the temple). I will be back in Dallas toward the end of next week and was thinking about buying one and taking it apart to reblock, fix what ever may be wrong with it, and the put it back together. Since they had them up to a size 8 last time I thought I would see if anyone alse was interested in an Imperial sith a taller-open crown and hand creased. They would end up still being less than 1/2 the retail cost even after paying for the reblocking and repair.

I would be interested in one in 7 3/8 or 7 1/2 "as is" from the factory store to sort of "Franken-hat" myself. What might that run w/ some added $$$ f/ your gas & shipping?

The colors that they came in were Black, grey, and brown. Please give an order of preference. Although there were a lot more black and grey at the time.

I have started doing a bit of wholesale as some of you know, just to let people know where they are available. Dean-Kingston in Fort Worth is already carrying my beaver fedoras, and I have a shipment going out tommorrow to Lansky at the Peabody in Memphis. The reason I am going to Dallas is to meet with Pinto Ranch, who has stores both in Dallas, and Houston.

The Pinnacle is a dress hat, thinner and softer felt.

If they cost the same as they did previously, they will be about $150.
They would all be reblocked shooting for a 5 1/2 inch open crown, possibly slightly taller. That all depends on the individual hats.

A bound edge would be an option.

Jimmy contacted me about a week ago. I should have two grey Pinnacles in the works. I don't know what the wait time will be. Once I get the hats I will post pictures.

I got the two reworked Pinnacles from Jimmy today. One is my father's Christmas present and the other is for my son to give me.

Jimmy said he took them apart, blocked them, replaced one of the ribbons, put them back together and added edge binding. He also gave them a tear drop crease for me.

The hats are darker than they look in the photo. With the addition of the edge binding (which came out really well) they cost about $175 each. That seems like a great value to me for a pure beaver hat that's been reworked by a professional. I think Jimmy did a very nice job on these hats. I am excited to be able to give my father a hat of this quality. Because of when he grew up, my dad thinks Stetsons are the greatest hats in the world and he will cherish this one.

The felt on these hats feels very nice. I appreciate Jimmy offering such a good deal. These hats cost about what a regular quality Stetson fedora off the shelf would have been.

Very nice! Wish I was here for this offer! My grandfather was the same way about Stetsons & having seen his, wish his head was bigger, I know why. Wish he or my dad were still around to give nice lids to. You're blessed.... gtd
