I'm stationed at Campbell, and had some wwii related events going on for the week of the Eagle.

I was in-and-out of Campbell when in the 101st many moons ago.
Is Special Forces command based at Campbell now?
...and is Elaine's Cafe still down the road towards Clarksville? ...knew a gorgeous redhead waitress there...;)

AIRBORNE!!!!

Harp and Splintercellsz: Thanks to both of you for your service!
Splintercellsz: If you are at Ft. Campbell and would like to get more involved in either reenacting or just being part of Museum presentations on significant days for the Division (D-Day, Market-Garden, and Bastogne) and for Week of Eagles, just go by the Museum and talk to the Museum Director (Dan Peterson). He can give you some information about us and put you in touch with the unit leadership. (I can do that, also.)
In my opinion, the 101st Museum reenacting unit is a great bunch of guys who really care about military history in general, and WWII and 101st history in particular. About 2/3 of the people are present or former military, and about 1/3 are civilian.

I know Ft. Campbell is a huge place, but I'll ask if you knew Capt. Jim Page? He was the Division Historian, and was the originator of the reenacting unit. If you knew him, or knew of him, you likely know that he died about a year ago from natural causes. (very young, at 42...)

Man in uniform? You know what really draws women in?

Flight suits. I flew for 20 years. Chicks dig the smell of nomex.

Seriously, my wife always said I looked great in my flight suit and my dress uniform (tho my blues were always uncomfortable to me).

Airshow chicks. I ran into those at the aircrew party at the Dayton Airshow in 2012. I was waayy drunk, but not that drunk. I didn't want to make too big of an ass out of myself, especially since I retired from the military the next day!

Coyotes? Chew your arm off in the morning rather than wake them.

the O club party was the craziest thing I had ever seen on a miltary base...chatting with the Blue Angel pilots and crew was tops though

I used to get a kick out of the Air Force Reserve crews at air shows. Saturday morning, they would all be huddled around the C130 ramp, sucking on 100% oxygen, trying desperately to cure their hang overs!

The Blue Angels were at the party, but didn't stay long. Their maintenance guys did. We outdrank the AWACS children and the Marines were trying to pick a fight with them because they got caught cheating (digging empty beer cups out of the trash. Losers). I was told by my AC no fighting at the party, tho.

I called my dad about mid way thru the party.

"Hey, Dad, I'm at the aircrew party!"
"Yeah, no s**t. I can tell."
