Holy smokes. If true, this is amazing.
In short: archaeologists think some Of the “writing” on a pillar at Goebekli Tepi (12,000 years old) represents a calendar that includes 365 days overlapping 12 lunar months, plus periodic additional days to keep the seasons in synch. Finally, the summer solstice is tied to a constellation that appears in the summer sky.
I won’t even mention that it might also count back to a catostrophic comet strike famously proposed by Graham Hancock.
Pretty amazing stuff, if true.
