I can't believe that Ft. Lauderdale is already considered "Greater Miami". Where my house is now used to be at the absolute edge of the Everglades...the farthest reaches of "Greater Miami" which now apparently stretch to the northermost point of the NEXT county! Wow has Miami changed over the last few years or what?!?!?! You DEFINTIELY cannot be to careful down that way though :-D

In Texas it is called a Metroplex

Actually the Greater Miami metropolitan area encompasses Palm Beach County too.
That is an unending stretch from and Miami-Dade county line in the south where Monroe and the Upper Keys begin to the northernmost element of PBCO,
Approximately three and a half million souls, none of whom can drive a car, express any courtsey whatsoever, or get a cell phone out of their ears.
