I don't remember what it's called, sunrise or sunshine something
I think it's supposed to be a breakfast drink, but it's really good
Fill a glass with half OJ and half Cranberry Juice.
I suppose it would be pretty good over rocks, so that people wouldn't know it's non-alcoholic.

is an excellent non-alchoholic beer that has a great flavor. On the lable they call it isotonic, and vitamin-rich, and their marketing blurb calls it the "The Sports and Fitness Drink".

Whether at work, before driving or after sports, there are certain occasions where it is wiser to avoid alcohol. For those who don't want to miss out on the delicious taste of wheat beer, though, the solution is Erdinger Weissbier 'non-alcoholic'. It is brewed with the customary care and experience gained from over 110 years of brewing tradition and in accordance with the highest quality standards.

Erdinger's master brewers have succeeded in retaining the aromatic, full-bodied Erdinger character - even without alcohol. It is this unique flavor which has spread the fame of Erdinger Weissbräu far beyond the borders of Germany.

Erdinger Weissbier 'non-alcoholic' thus represents a further top product in the Erdinger range and a genuine alternative to its other specialty wheat beers.

Funny, I had a debate with a friend the other day about this - it gets labeled here and in Germany as a "non-alcholic".

Would it not be classed that way in the States?

At 0.04% could you say you are being faithfully non-alcoholic?

Well ... yea for the purposes of this thread. [huh]

It may be splitting hairs ... who knows. It falls in line with what the regulatory bodies term as non-alcoholic but it does have alcohol in it according to the manufacturer. :eusa_doh:

Angostura Bitters is 44.7% ALCOHOL!

yes...and 3 dashes is -really- such a minuscule amount as to not count unless say you are deathly allergic to any alcohol at all. Bitters sort of goes in the same category as -medicines- that are alcohol based for me...its not a -drinky- alcohol.

If it is the 'I don't drink' sort of alcohol avoidance, then really..bitters is not going to even register on the meter unless you drink it straight...but that's just disgusting really.

Sounds like the equivalent to a Tequila Sunrise which uses grenadine

Bitters, other miniscule alcohol amounts, et al

Regarding Bitters, non-alcoholic beer, cooking with alcohol, and other items containing miniscule amounts of alcohol, if you're preparing a non-alcoholic drink for someone who's had issues with alchohol and is now not drinking, skip them regardless of how miniscule the amount may seem. I knew someone who was so terribbly physically addicted to alcohol, his doctors advised him not to even use cooking spray (i.e. Pam) due to the alcohol in the propellant, no joke. The art of being a good host is seeing to the guest's comfort, so offering true non-alcoholic beverage choices is important.

When I'm out with a group of friends but don't feel like having a drink, I quietly order club soda with lime and still have a great time. People usually think it's a gin and tonic, and on more than one occasion a tipsy companion has remarked, "You're really holding your liquor! How are you not on the floor?" (I'm under 5'3".)

The reply, to a particularly slobbery drunken person I didn't care to see again: "Good genes."

This sounds particularly yummy!
This thread has been quite helpful! While I've been known to toss back a few, I am frequently hostess to several who don't. Being able to offer them an elegant drink in a fancy glass will be a nice addition to a fine evening of well-crafted dinner and homemade pie.
