Went to the holiday event and saw a Schott jacket I had never seen before. The Vandals jacket but super distressed. I am considering it.

The back is 24" long for size medium. We measured it in person.

Fit pics attached. The size medium fits snug. Tighter than the medium 519 or the 40 613SH. It is a little stiff from the distressing in the drum. Could use some moisturizer.

I am 5 ft 8. 39 inch chest. 32 waist. I could zip easily with a hoodie. The sleeves hit at wrist bone which might be too short for some or perfect for others. If you are on bike it will ride up. After creases it will ride up.

If you love the cropped d pocket look, this or the waxy Vandals version is your ticket. If you are tall or have long torso, this won't work.

There are side by side with the waxy version

PS...after selling my 519, I miss the belt and the one star. I feel without those elements it isn't the original. Just derivative. like getting Nike without the swoosh. Jordans without the Jumpman. Mercedes without the star. Ferrari without the horse.

Am I insane?

For comparison.
613SH 40 in store.
519 medium (broken in) lake Como
568VN medium in store

I lost about 12 lbs from this lake Como photo. :)

Something about that 613SH...

You say it fits snug but that you can zip easily with a hoodie?

$1250 as per the Schott website. o_O

I suppose if it's to your taste - go for it. For me, I do not prefer "pre-reliced" on any jacket (or jeans, for that matter).
I guess that's where I differ somewhat, if I want a true vintage jacket -there are many out there. However it (is) quite difficult to find my size in something true vintage. That leaves the new reproduction option, where I can wear it, enjoy it and naturally break it in. Something of a goal that is not always (or even often) realized in this particular community. I am guilty of moving jackets along too soon.

I keep going back to @Feliksas Aero and thinking (maybe with a different jacket altogether) that I should really choose "one" of my cross-zips and deeply, thoroughly live in it for a few years. That would be a true jacket fully broken in and pre loved - by the original owner.

Just my $0.02 here ... obviously if you like it...

Thanks for the post and the fit pics. I find myself repeatedly checking out the (regular) Vandals jacket. I’ve had quite a variety of Schotts over the years but none where the leather was described as naked, pebbled cowhide. I like the style of this thing but I‘m not sure about the leather itself. Any thoughts on how it looks in person etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Yeh I haven't bought. I think both vn and non vn look good. If you like cropped look of vintage they are cool. I am leaning 613sh or another direction

While still not for me I’m glad this isn’t as distressed as they used to do with this leather on the PER series. I nearly bought the PER28 but I hated the pre faded arms. The leather is nice; it doesn’t need preaging!

The 613SH looks good on you. That would be my favourite Perfecto in the current lineup.
I also liked the new Shinki on you. I may be biased as I just bought it.
