An online shop where NOT to buy...

I'm writing you this one to warn about a very bad internet hats shop.
You guys living in USA will probably never buy from this one, but if you are in Europe just forget hutshopping.de/cappellishop.com/hatshopping.com.

Never found an internet shop worst than this. Of course, they have a decent selection of hats, but they have an horrible support service. Long delay in replies, often they don't even answer your questions. They ignore any kind of communication, both by email both by fax.

Very disapponting.

You are lucky in the USA having so many good shops (just thinking about the people that are also member of the lounge).. sigh...

I thought i would bump this thread, since I have recently made a purchase from hatshopping.com and had a very different experience.

I didn't have any trouble with regards to communication. I was promtly e-mailed an order confirmation, and was also advised when the order was a week delayed and when it was finally sent to me. The UPS tracking ID wasn't included in that mail so I had to ask for it and received a reply within 1/2 hour.

The only real trouble I had was having to be at home for the UPS delivery (I called UPS and was informed that "all deliveries are made between 9 am and 5 pm", which doesn't really help). Unfortunately hatshoppipng.com doesn't seem to offer shipment by regular mail.

All in all I think the service from hatshopping.com was fine, but the service from UPS left a lot to be desired.

zootsuitstore.com

It's a division of Siegel's which has been in business well over 100 years. But the hip looking hats were (I bought one. My grandson will get it when his head gets bigger, so he can destroy it.) about the same quality as a costume store. You get what you pay for. Sometimes even less.

The hats at Siegel's are crap.
But just for the record, there's nothing
wrong with the brick-and-mortar store
(which is in San Francisco's Mission district).
I have purchased a lot of Carhartt jeans
there over the years- regular prices,
good selection.

The zoot suit stuff appears to be cheap
novelty.

I agree

It's like some 105 year old guy who sells fine duds wanted to be "modern" but doesn't even realize that Zootsuits are already over 50 years old, even if Joakim Noah did wear one to the White House. The "costume" comment is dead-on. I can picture the hat I bought getting wet and disintegrating into pieces.
