Back on topic; it's just slang term. New phrases come out every decade. In the 70's it was "groovy" in the 80's it was "Valley Girl".

It seems to me that you guys are upset over the use of words that are associated with rap in general. All of the words or terms that you've brought up have a rap music affiliation. Then right in the middle of the thread, grown men use terms (media hyped terms that no one really uses I might add) to make fun off [huh] I'm not really sure, the way they assume people of color speak. 25% of me is offended, 25% of me is shocked, 25% is angry and 25% of me doesn't know what to think. How kindly would I or other persons of color be taken if we exchanged posts "making fun" of the way we think white people or people of european decent speak? Should we discuss the meaning of the word insensitivity?

Rosie, we aren't making fun of any race...we are simply tired of hearing the same words over and over again.
As far as race is concerned I know many loungers who like to use Jive talk words all the time which comes from Harlem...dig.

Admittedly, I don't listen much rap, but I thought I heard "artists" like Eminem and that old Vanilla Ice use those terms in their "music". Is music racially divided now too? This all makes me appreciate true artists like Satchmo, the 'Duke' and 'King' Cole so much more. The only issue was their art, their performance and their delivery - they didn't offer up much to "make fun of".

You know, though ... I've seen lots of black comedians on stage making "you crazy white people" jokes, and getting tons of laughs from people of all ethnicities. If I went on stage doing "you crazy black folks" jokes, I'd be a racist, and most likely shot before I got off stage.
