That alley shop will softly glow in the dark as soon as snowflakes start falling upon the streets of London. Nothing better'n a warm head in winter, warm hands inside a good overcoat. Protection!
Hats are coming back.
A sign of the times.
The wheel of fortune, turns, turns.
John B., are you there?
Having to take some Dutch - courage to enter a hat shop is highly amusing. He made it sound like a sex shop! Hats on the top shelf , someone losing his nerve and buying a scarf instead and the hat being placed in a plain brown bag.
It really can be scary to want to stand out and dare to not conform, but I am always reminded of something i think my father said over 30 years ago dont be a sheep you know what the wolves do to the sheeps dont you. The idea of being your own model and being the way you want to is more appealing today than ever. The idea that the norm is the way everyone else is, is no longer appealing to me.. sloppy dressing, baseball hats, bad behaviour and poor language and generally poor morals and no self sacrifice.. . I often think of myself as the last of that era, standing in my store with a tie on, apron to keep my clothes free of oil. The other day someone came in my store and i was drinking a coke in a glass bottle wearing a apron and working on a treadle sewing machine in the showroom and the word mentioned was time warp. Dare to be different, dont waver style and good taste has never gone out of style. 59Lark.
