Great news - I'm going to try emailing him. again

It may be a case of the squeaking wheel but I began emailing him almost daily through his website and email.

And for a bit of great news.....The postman just arrived with my 4 caps from Stewart. I provided the Harris Tweed that I picked up in my Scottish travels this past autumn. Just under 5 months for them to arrive but I consider myself fortunate given Stew's health issues. Did not want to cancel as he had the material so it was more complicated than just a refund. However, the caps arrived, 3 for me, 1 for my wife. All are brilliantly well made, fit perfectly and I have my souveniers from Scotland now. I will see if I can get some pics uploaded to show them off.

Looking forward to seeing all four caps. If Stew’s health improves I would definitely consider ordering more of his caps.

Looking at these caps, makes me think Stew has more than one pattern. It's not really apparent from the photos I took a few pages back, but my cap seems to be more dome-like. I did specify I wanted a wider fit though. I really do like look of some the recently posted caps and this is why I purchased one in the first place. I'm hoping Stew gets back in good health, so he can do what he does best.

I have 9 of Stewart's caps. There is variation in the fullness of the caps. Some are fuller than others. I like them all and actually like the variety. My take is that it is just the tolerance in his patterns. If he is off just 1/8" on each panel that makes the finished product an inch wider or narrower.

Indeed. Although I don't cycle these days, I am quite interested in acouple of the cycling caps nonetheless.

yes, if I take the plunge again it would be for a cycling cap. I cycle a fair bit but never without my helmet. The cap would be just for fashion.

Quite so. Though that gets me to wondering whether they coulsd make a scaled-up version that would fit over the helmet, something akin to the way racing jockeys have those coloured caps that fit over the top of their helmets? Qjuite like the look of the models with earflaps, too - could be nice on a Windy day!

Here are the pics of my 4 newest AmiCharnel caps. All are Harris Tweed. I picked up the fabric in my travels in Scotland, sent it to Stewart to be sewn. The first is a white/grey/black tweed. The second is a black with blue/yellow/red lines. The third a brown toned hounds tooth and the last a plain light grey with the bright red liner and waxed cotton under brim. All have leather sweats. I think a bargain for the level of quality he provides.

I know he had health issues and my last batch of caps from him goes back almost 2 years now. He was struggling then and his email had gone dark. I was able to communicate to his mother and I managed to get my 3 caps produced and mailed to me. I have not ordered any more (I do have enough) but also did not want to risk getting in a forever queue of unknown duration.

And I do hope he is ok. I spoke with him a few times and he struck me as a good guy. His product was stellar and a steal at the price.
