WHOA, there, pardner! Yesterday, at my PT session, where I was complaining about some pain returning to the bicep, (like you) they were clear and firm about the first six weeks following rotator cuff surgery. ONLY for some slight movement. She even told me I might be ok to do the dishes (thanks for that...) but NOT the pots and pans. That's for six weeks!!! I am about at six weeks, so off to Walmart last night where I pushed and pulled the cart mostly with one hand. It was that mostly piece that got me, as today, I can barely move it, there's a new level of pain and I'm worried I may have caused some damage. I'll be whining about this for a couple of day ONLY, I hope. Walmart is a dangerous place.

Do NOT rush it, Timster!!! We need you in good shape, sir!

Dang Charlie! You have to be careful! From what I understand, some of the original damage done and then what was "scraped" or cut out, damages, etc., has a lot to do with the recovery aspects....but as you are by now aware, it is not an over night process for healing. My heart (and Daniel's, too) goes out to you and Tim, and anyone else hat suffers this injury. Also as we get older, it makes recovery time take longer, no matter what! When Daniel had his hernia operation, we witnesses lil kids that had a similar operation running down the hallway the next day after surgery..and Daniel was hardly able to move, the pain was real intense yet. Lets face it, none of us are "spring chickens" any more...hehehe!

Cindy, thanks for the healing tips. I am making it through the entire day w/o the pill.
And I am keeping this arm active the best I can. I did need one pain pill last night, and slept through it. I don't drink whiskey any more because I had a run in with a WILD TURKEY, 22 times one night back in the early 80s ....whoever invented the idea of one shot per year of age, they were obviously young....yes...this was the prelude to my 23rd birthday, some 30 years back.

I like the mention of my ethics and still doing some hat work. I am almost there where I can use the arm. I had sewn a bow keeper to my finger the other day, but it was only a few days after surgery....i was still all groggy. I found myself taking out my LesPaul yesterday. The body width , I am able to get between my body and inner arm.

I played backing blues chords most of the day and evening. My muscle in my arm has been feeling weak, between the elbow and shoulder, and my wrist was sort of slow coming back..but yesterday was only one week since surgery. At the end of the day I feel it was a good therapy session and I think I'll do that again today. As well, doctor's prescribed therapy. i am hopeful that i am back to hat work soon.

Our heart is for you, Tim. Bless you and of course, Charlie as well. He is family just like you!

We got out! Both of us hit the Casino last night...had our "MOM's" Baby sitter take this picture...Daniel is wearing Tim's creation, "Bad to the Bone"...and I am wearing my custom purple Fedora from Esther! We had a great time and a super romantic evening....it was just wonderful!

Cheers to you and Daniel! You both look sharp on date night. Special moment I am sure.

Best to you both, Eric -

Yes it was. You have no idea how busy things are for us, and with everyone having health issues, makes it even harder. Plus we can't leave the "Moms" alone in the house. We do not even get the chance to go shopping together!

You look terrific. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Thank you so very much for the support. I really appreciate you for helping me. I'm slowly recovering from my shoulder surgery. It will be a while yet until I can do anything. Back to see doc, end of the month. That will be week 6. He said lay low and cautioned me on doing anything but my therapy noting that the tear repair, internal stitching , takes 6 weeks to mend.

Hope you all are avoiding the bug. I've been severely sick the past 12 days.

I wanted to note, I changed my email address to Alleykathatter@ptd.net

Hard to make hats (or do much of anything) with an arm in a sling, isn't it, Tim??

Well, as you now know, if you don't follow the doc's orders, it won't only be your arm in a sling...

I squeezed my budget a bit to purchase a pair of these shoes, they are super nice, hand made in England, and I thought they would really match the colors for the Bad to the Bone hat and the other attire I have put together for Daniel!

Yeah we have had that sick crud hit here, we all had it for a while and other people we know have had it as well.

I hope your shoulder will just improve. It takes time. The older a person gets the slower the healing process takes. The PT they have you do should start to make some difference in a few weeks. The pain will stick around for a while, but as times passes, your PT will actually make the pain go away.

I am sure you will let us all know when you are up and running again for making hats. I'll be thinking of something for you to make for Daniel by then!

Well now, I can see I need to jump up and start a new hat to be made..as no one else is taking the plunge or are they? Hahahah! I'll have to let Tim know where to start on another idea for a hat....oh yeah!

Hello everyone. Its a beautiful day out there and that has me motimotivate. I am in week 6 of shoulder rotator surgery recovery. I have a limited range of motion but it is all good. Waist level and not having to reach much is key. Pain is very little but as therapy starts this week learning how to use the arm again.....that might make for some discomfort at times.

Bob I am working on your hat. I appreciate your patience.

I just want to thank people. Anyone and everyone that reaches out to me, concerned for me. It really means a lot. Thanks!!
A gentleman helped me out buying a old stratoliner. I had forgot I placed a order for Long Oval bandblocks. So in one hand and out the other to the penny. This way I have consistent Long Ovals and done need to mess around with building up band blocks.

Bob.....you are up current.
I am once again in position to discuss orders and take deposits.
Thank you all very much.
Tim
