I received Cane's Creation #41 Friday evening and have been too swamped to write anything up. So let's get to it, the specs:
Felt: Rabbit Whiskey
Ribbon: Pewter, mid width
Crown: Open 6", bashed 5" at front raked to 4" in the back
Brim: 2 1/2"
The felt is pliable and holds its bash well. I had Tim work in a diamond bash and he sure knows what's doing, it's beautiful. The felt is pounced really well and has a great feel; I can't take my hands off of it. The brim was given a shallow flange and I haven't shaped it at all because I like the brim up look on this hat. The crown is tall with no taper.
The felt color has hints of red and blonde when in direct sunlight. That whiskey is rich. The sweat (hand sewn by Tim) is soft and incredibly comfortable. The liner is clean, and comfy.

This is my nicest hat. It fits perfectly and working the Cane Rod Maker was easy and he involved me with every step along the way. I can't recommend him and his hats enough. I am currently charging my camera battery so pics will come later this afternoon. I love this hat and I encourage anyone to shoot a message to Cane Rod Maker if you're in the market for new lid.

No website. He does have a Facebook page, but it's his personal page and he doesn't really use it to promote the fact that he makes hats.

Yeah, Tim is very good about photo-documenting each step of the process and sending those photos to his customers who live too far away to inspect the hat in-person. I'm sure this practice not only helps to keep his customers informed about his progress, but also to make sure Tim and his customers are "on the same page" to reduce or eliminate the chances that a customer might receive a hat they're not completely happy with. I received 23 photos of my hat during the process, and a few others that Tim used as a visual example to explain his thoughts about the shape of the bow. And a photo of his 1967 GTO Sport Coupe, because all work and no play...oh, you know. For me it was an extremely pleasant and hassle-free experience, and I got a hat that I'm very happy and proud to wear.

Thanks, Bob, for that compilation, and after seeing Zombie's hat and Gabe's I realize the time has come for a whiskey (not the first time I've made that decision). What a beautiful color, and the styles are just knock-outs.
