Cuff zips were just over £5 each, main zip about £12,plus postage.
Speak to Saaya at the shop she has all the details.

Thanks John - that's sounds like an excellent deal to set a more run of the mill repro straight (and useful to have a spare set at home as well).
I'll follow that up.
Cheers
Ian

Apart from zippers, could someone let me know where to get the leather straps for the waist, including the buckle (brass, please), and the across the "throat", including the metal strings (brass please). These could be contrasting, lighter ones as I am not interested in authenticity, and the jacket is just an old WPG. I'd just like to spruce it up a little. I have people here to do the work, just need the parts.

Thanks for the advice and thanks for this excellent thread.

I'd imagine you could try any of the repro makers like ELC, AH, Aero. Wouldn't have a clue if any or all sell those bits separately and if so what sort of price.

Never had good luck with ELC, Amanda's left AL, AH I do not know, Aero maybe. This is anyway just to bolster the hipster side of me...

AH is Aces High, a one man outfit by Jon, a member here and at VLJ.

Best of luck with getting the bits and bobs and post some pics of before and after when you have the work done.

Of course, I've had brief discussions with him by email. I'm not so sure about the before and after pictures, though. What I'm looking for is probably not for this thread :)

Thanks for that tip John. I hope they don't have a run on them now and sell out before I can afford a set. Don't all of you Irvin nuts go grabbing them up all at once.

Well remember to measure and order the right length and it can be quite expensive to replace zips properly. There are very very few companies I would trust to disembowell one of my jackets.

The tracks on the Riri zips used on ELC Irvins are the same width as original Dot zips and rather than go to the trouble of replacing them, a simpler option is just to fit original Dot sliders.

I didn't know that at all Andrew. Many thanks, having an ELC as you know that's an even better option.

I owe you a beer when I make it over for the BoB celebrations this year ;)

Thanks Tim. That will be great and yes I'm looking forward to the BoB celebrations at Duxford on 19th and 20th September.
