Akubra Red liner

Are all new Akubras now coming with red liners?

How is the liner attached? Is it simply hot glued in place in a few spots?

Can I “properly” remove the white liner from an older Akubra and swap it with the red one in my new Campdraft?

Anyone want to trade a new red liner for a white one?

I've bought an Adventurer and a Sydney from David Morgan in the past month or two. The former had a white liner and the latter a red one. I pulled the lining out of a Riverina I also bought. It was just glued.

When removing the liner, pull slowly. Akubra has sometimes been generous with glue. You don't want to tear the liner. You will remove a bit of felt from the inner crown, but this is usually slight, and being on the inside, doesn't show.

Thanks, I figured the liners were just spot glued in place. I’ll be careful.

I know some of you guys love the new red liners and I don’t want to offend.
I just prefer white in my hats.

Kinda reminds me of the story about General George S. Patton when asked about his "pearl handled revolvers". Patton angrily corrected the reporter who asked the question and sharply explained that they were ivory. "Only a New Orleans pimp would carry a pearl-handled gun."

Anyone want a new red liner or 2?

Even Art has gone to putting in colored liners in his custom hats. I have one that should be in Monday or Tuesday and I asked him to use one of his new color liners. I guess it doesn't matter what color the liner is since no one can see it anyway. But the colored liners will hide the sweat and other stains you often see on the white liners.[huh]
