RJR, can you venture a guess on color of this Cattleman? It shows a pinkish color in these low light pics that's not normally there but I don't know which of the sand colors it might be.

I see that sort of pink hue.It first looked like bran but as I continue looking,I'm not at all sure.Their light sand and silver belly have a bit of pink to my eye.

I'm thinking it is probably the light sand/Silverbelly also, but the sand & also the quartz are close.

It was described by the seller as "Khaki" so they obviously didn't know either.

That colour is sand. I have a Snowy River that colour and it has some light pink undertones. Kind of like a 1981 Cadillac I used to have. ;)

Thanks Johnny. Sand it is then! The hat is still sitting with the band block in it. I pushed out the crown just to see what open crown looked like. I haven't had time to shape it yet but hope to tomorrow or Friday.

Does anyone know if there are any photos of the comparison of these two colors? Unfortunately the old photos have been removed. That's the frustration for me of this site.

I love the feel of the deluxe sweatband on my forehead but think i like the color of the tawny fawn better...decisions decisions!

If you have not had a standard Fed IV on your head, I can reassure you that the sweat is extraordinarily comfortable, as in all-day-wearable, as I do at work all day every day, so if you like the Tawny better, the sweat shouldn't hold you back.

I'll second this. I have two Standard/Imperial Fed IVs and one Deluxe/Heritage, and when I'm wearing them I don't notice a difference. Yes, the sweat on the Deluxe/Heritage hat is a little wider and softer, but for me that's not worth the price difference.

ok, thanks for the feedback. To me and my delicate forehead, I can tell the difference between the Imperial sweat and the deluxe, and LOVE the heritage sweatband. It is such an organic experience, that I only want to wear my CDD anymore. I wanted an Indy hat, or a hat typical of the times. Even though the TF color is not a true to move Indy hat, I don't have this color (most of my hats are gray TBH). On the computer I am keen on the color of the Imperial TF (virbrant) vs the Heritage (a bit dull to me). So I ordered the Imperial TF Fed IV AND the heritage Fed IV in brown! We'll see how the color is in real life, and can't wait to compare the two!

Which is which? I guess Imperial on the left, Heritage on the R?
Yes, thanks I forgot to mention that Heritage Fawn Federation IV Deluxe is on the right.
I would like to add that although I prefer the color Tawny Fawn I have not worn the reg Fed IV since I bought the Fed IV Deluxe.
The felt of my Deluxe is much softer and the sweatband is really comfortable.

I know what you mean about the sweatband! It's addictive. I have some heritage CDs and a bushman, and seem to reach for the CD deluxe. But I do love the rare yellowish color to the TF, so I was torn. So will give it a chance, guess I could always sell it if needed...

Thanks guys for your input and the photo. Just received word that the tawny fawn and brown deluxe are on the way! Looking forward to seeing the color in person

I guess the shade can be different from batch to batch.
This might be a better representation of the color.

What I was getting at is that quite often my hats appear to be different colors, or different shades of the same color, when photographed and viewed on screen, regardless of lighting conditions. That is why I believe that a good studio photographer, with a good camera, can accurately represent a hat. Mikael at Hufvud happens to be particularly good at this.
