Many Years of my past were spent doing construction. I have in recent years worked inside a school doing facilities and maintenance work indoors. Now, I’m in the sports complex and doing traffic. I have been working outside a lot and with the summer coming up I need a good sunblock hat. I will have to drag several fields of artificial turf.

I am thinking of a hat I can wear year round.

Through my research on the webs, I think I’m liking the Snowy River more.. Shorter crown but the Cattleman brim style is more to my liking. I also like to wear my hats low. Just bare above my glasses.

Give me your thoughts.

I like to wear hats low myself, brim just touching the ears. A Cattleman definitely touches the top of my head so I raise the dome to keep it off my head.

Worth having a think about the practicalities if you want to wear felt in hot weather. The Cattleman has the benefit of the ventilation holes, which the Snowy River and the Campdraft do not. I shave my head and so tend to avoid unvented felt in hot weather owing to otherwise having sweat rolling down my face all the time.

Think about removing the liner and having vent holes put in whatever hat you decide on. My summers get pretty hot here in Colorado and I’ve found that has worked for me. Just a thought
