Aero premier highwayman fit, unsure about the length

I think the length looks perfect. If one is not used to this style of jacket they always seem too short in the beginning. I would suggest higher rise jeans rather than changing the length on that jacket.
I always insist on that. Don't need to go as high as most of us vintage aficionados do but a medium rise looks better, specially with these jackets.

People have pointed out many times on this forum that the low rise jean and vintage cut leather jacket don't mix. Personally, I feel that unless you have a really short torso, low rise jeans are a bad look anyway and you might consider going with something just a little higher. If that isn't an option then yes, a slightly longer jacket would work better.

The jacket looks on the short end of the acceptable range, but still in the acceptable range.

Length looks perfect in the back but an inch short in the front. What rise are those jeans? Perhaps that pair of jeans just don’t fit with that jacket.

Whilst it looks fine, the jacket doesn’t particularly flatter in those photos- the torso doesn’t appear as fitted as it might. Which isn’t the norm for the premier range.

It's a bit... wide for a Premier HWM. Looks like a regular one. Not a bad thing but I see these fit a bit trimmer, usually. There is some bunching at the back. I don't know. Length is okay, in my opinion.
This. Length is fine, the jacket looks a bit boxy to me.

I would suggest higher rise jeans. But with creasing the jacket will lose another inch in the length.

Just my 2cnts. But I would not change my usual pant / fashion style to accommodate a piece of outerwear. It should be the other way around. That being said, the front length is short by 1". You can already see your belt buckle and the leather will "shorten" crease up when it wears in, maybe lose .5". The back length is good right now, but it might creep up when broken in. Then becoming too short for you since you're already questioning the fit. As others have said on the forum, and I can attest to this with personal experience, if something bugs you from the get go it will only get worse. And eventually you'll do a catch/release and try again.

Belt position and visibility is of course relative to how high the jeans are worn.

I believe that if aero custom made one for photograohy purposes with a particular model in mind that there would be no over hang past the belt at the front. It would either just about cover it or there may even be some belt visible .

The trick is not to mess around with the lengths to accommodate the rest of your wardrobe, rather it is to understand how a model is supposed to fit, and to then choose the right one for your circumstances.

Aero say the jacket is not too short and I 100% concur. But if the op thinks it is then maybe he ought to be looking at a mid length style instead of the HWM, which is a short one ,

Good lord, don't touch the length! This is exactly how they're meant to look - I'd argue that you could go a smidgen shorter. Any longer and you knock the proportions out - hoist your jeans, that'll fix it. Highwayman is a boxy jacket, so if you're not keen on the look - I've owned one and it didn't really work for me, so I flipped it - you're probably better with something like a Plainsman or Wayfairer, or perhaps a Dust Bowl.
I have my suspicions about who High Plains Drifter is - a troll over on the VLJ is trotting out similar nonsense. I have no idea why people like this feel the need to waste theirs and our time with this sort of nonsense.

I just noticed that is his first post. He's a troll all right, and probably the same one who is on the VLJ forum.

The body is too short! It's just not practical. Aeros poorly cut jackets are one of the primary reasons I stopped buying them.
Just to clarify the jacket in question.
This jacket was sent as a "fit" jacket. The customer in question is from memory (I don't have his exact details to hand) approx 6'4" and was concerned on fit. We sent him a jacket we had in stock that was close in measurements, this was not a custom ordered jacket and was not made to any spec. We felt that the fit looked good but if we were to make one to order the fit could be tweaked and lengths adjusted.
High Plains Drifter we have many patterns to work with some a more relaxed fit (50's pattern block or "boxy") others more fitted, premier fits, 1930's slimmer patterns, STF patterns, new Hooch Hauler etc.....We believe we have a pattern to suit all. As for lengths these are all adjustable to customer build or preferences.
If you would like do discuss your fit issues rather than start a new "profile" and on your first post air your concerns feel free to contact me and we can work with you. denny@aeroleatherclothing.com
