I recently ordered a jacket from Greg Fields, so I will have a lot of time to think about what to get.
In the meantime I snatched this aero jacket. I got it for a reasonable price second hand, so it is in some way a compromise.
The standard pattern was modified: the breast pocket is angled and the back yoke is taken from the standard Highwayman. Olive drab stitching, lochcarron tartanlining.
Back length 25
Arms 26.4
Shoulder 17.7
P2P 21.6
Seam 20
I think it is a little to tight in the chest when zipped up and may be a little to short.
Since I use this jacket as a template for the bespoke jacket (mock up jacket included) from field leathers, I would like to hear your opinions and advise.

Very nice fit. Any amount to "too tight" will loosen up with some good wear. What leather is this one? If it's Horween CXL FQHH or Steerhide, that leather will soften up nicely after it's worn for ~ 20 minuites.

Lengths are all spot-on to me. You will not be able to use this one for layering. Sleeves and front/back length are just how I like them. Sholders sit well. Looks like it was made for you there.

Welcome to FL! :)

I forgot to mention that : it is vincenza russet hh. I hope you are right about the softening with wear.

It will soften up nicely. My Vicenza Seven took about three months to start to give in the armholes.
Actually the jacket was made in march of 2019. The leather Shows very little wear if any, the lining has two little holes and a small tear.
So I don't know wether it will give in.

Ok Vicenza is good stuff too.
Vicenza doesn't always "show" it's break in as much, but it still does break in.
I would wear & enjoy this one a while, looks great on you!

Wear in the lining already would be a concern for me.
I own a few jackets that are over 40 Yr old and the lining is still solid.
The jacket looks a good fit on you.

True, but the lining is in good condition apart from the imperfections mentioned. They are all near the seam so I suppose the previous owner wore iron pants.

Looks good to me, but for your figure I would suggest a style with the half belt at your mid section (rather than bottom hem) to give it a more tailored hourglass shape

OP, the jacket looks like a neat fit to me, and looks spot on in every way.

if you want to layer with it, you probably could stand an extra 1” in the chest and shoulders.

Thanks! Good advice. I live in Germany, so light layering is necessary for 6 - 7 months.
I usally wear a shirt and a thin jumper (John Smedley).
It works with the hwm but just so...

Looks good and I would leave it as is.
If it should be too tight at the chest then... Wet leather, stuff with pillow and stretch.
@Marc mndt has described that here somewhere.

I’d be happy just to have 1/100th of that much hair on my head. Jacket looks fine. LOL. It does though. Nothing to change there.
