Aero Leather- Vicenza or Goatskin

Hello for the first time, TFL.

I have been lurking for a few weeks now that i've discovered TFL is the place to discuss leather jackets including Areo. In that time, I've put together [90%] what i would like to do with my first order and I'm seeking feedback regarding a specific point, in particular.

The question I pose to you: those of you with experience handling/owning Vicenza and goatskin jackets, what are you impressions?

I am on the fence between dark seal or seal Vicenza and seal goatskin for my Sheene. The jacket will be for causal use and riding is not a consideration in its design.

Final spec will be close to this.

Also, as many pictures as possible of Sheene/Seven make ups is most welcome regardless of spec and leather. Appreciating others well worn jackets has been most enjoyable!

If you're thinking of Sheene - I think that correct TFL solution would be:
CXL Sheene at first.
Then Vicenza plus Goatskin, both.
So, finally you need to buy at least 3 jackets for the beginning.
That's how it usually goes over here.

I currently own an Aero black goatskin Maxwell, seal jerky horsehide Mulligan, brown FQHH (CXL) Teamster, russet Vicenza Sheene, and black Vicenza Sheene. Of those skins, my favorite is the black Vicenza on that specific Sheene that has a fantastic hand, drape, and appearance. At one time I had to return a size 42 Premier Range Highwayman in seal Vicenza since the jacket was too tight in the chest and shoulders. HOWEVER, the seal Vicenza was the nicest color skin I have ever seen. SO, if I could have only one jacket it would be a Sheene made with seal Vicenza and olive cotton drill body shell and sleeve lining.

Only 3? I should probably add a cowhide variant for good measure, too. I actually really love anything and everything cordovan colored (still getting used to not calling it no.8 especially from Horween, but I digress) but CXL has a much more rugged appearance than what I'm going for right now, anyway. I was thinking about the inevitable second purchase and to possibly make that out of cordovan cxl hh.

I tend to agree that the seal, from what I've seen in numerous [hundreds and hundreds] of photos online, it is an absolutely gorgeous leather. The characteristics associated with goat are what have me leaning that way but every time I come across another seal Vicenza jacket I am quite intrigued by it.

To my way of thinking a Sheene is not particularly a cold/foul weather jacket which is my primary reason for strongly recommending seal Vicenza that has a rich color that has to be seen to be appreciated. Olive cotton drill lining provides a nice contrast along with durability.

My FQHH CXL Teamster is my designated cold/foul weather jacket with moleskin body shell lining and cotton sateen sleeve lining, although cotton drill works equally as well for sleeve lining based on my experience. The Teamster also allows me to layer underneath with a Filson moleskin vest or even a 24oz Mackinaw wool Filson vest underneath, whereas I look and feel like the Michelin Man layering underneath my shorter jackets. I have no particular problem wearing my CXL Teamster in light rain but not my veg tanned jackets.
