Aero jacket wiht snap customization?

Hello everyone!

A real newbie here... I'm probably about to buy my first high quality leather jacket, and the past few days I have spent here on Fedora Lounge soaking up information. So thanks to everyone!

Now... I don't know if I should just ask this directly from Aero...
But I pretty much don't have any knowledge about leather jackets. I don't know if the following is possible, or if it has been done before, but...
What I would like to have is a zipper + snap closure, similar to M65 for example. This picture explains what I'm talking about:

So the snaps are used to cover up the zipper. I know this would be a very big customization. How does this sound to you? Would this work in a leather jacket and would Aero do something like this for any cost...?

I'm currently wearing a M65 as a every day jacket, and I really love the snaps. I rarely close the zipper, so I am able to pull my jacket open in a second with one hand. So the snaps have become pretty much a must have thing for me.

I'm also thinking about various other customization. One is the lining material. I would wish it to be as "slippery" as possible, so polyester or something similar is pretty much only thing that comes to my mind. I know this is also a pretty weird choice, when I could aslo choose some quality material... But I guess I'll have to ask Aero about this as well, can they make jackets with such lining.

The model I'm thinkig about is Long Half Belt (brown FQHH), maybe with even a few inches added to the lenght.
I was a bit worried after reading complaints about the jacket resisting when reaching forward or up. (in this thread: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?40186-My-Aero-Long-Half-Belt...)
...since functionality is probably the most important thing to me in a jacket.
LHB still has an action-back, right? But would some other model still allow more freedom in movement?

Also, I'm wondering about the lining material of LHB's "hand warmer pockets"... what it is, and is it really warm? It gets pretty cold here in Finland. :D I mean, should it be changed...

Lots of strange questions. :)

Oh and Happy New Year everybody!

I like snap windflaps, actually have an early 60s horsehide field coat that is what you describe (snap wind-flap over zipper). It has one at the collar. One in the middle and two at the bottom. Don't know if you need more--if you use the zipper. By the way, in the world of Aero (and maybe elsewhere) I think they call them "studs." Mark

Hello ka1, and welcome on the Fedora Lounge.
You have a good taste of choosing an Aeroleather long halfbelt.
Keep in mind though, that these jackets are not very warm and not intend to be worn in extreme cold conditions like you have in Finland. Also with an Apalca wool lining and hand warmer pockets I do not find them very warm, unless you intend to layer heavy under it.
Good luck,
Andy

Thank you for your answers.:)

Yeah Mark, wasn't sure would it be 'snap' or 'stud'.

Yes, I'm aware that leather jackets aren't too warm. I'm not planning to use it as a winter jacket. But there are long periods in Spring and Autumn when a leather jacket would be perfectly fine. :)

That's a very nice jacket! In many ways just what I'm looking for. The lining, pockets, studs - although there could be more of those, so you wouldn't have to use the zipper.
I think I will soon contact Aero to ask if it is possible to add the studs...

edit. so its called a windflap?
