Aero HWM - B10 Green sateen cloth lining

Does anyone have any experience with aero jackets having sleeves lined in "B-10 green sateen cloth"? What are the qualities of this fabric---durability, comfort, etc. Also, is this the same thing as "olive Gabardine"?

I just received my HWM and chose b10 for lining. It seems a bit coarse but tolerable esp. here in southern california. When the day comes to reline, might choose a different material.

The B10 outer cloth is a quite special weave. It's indeed Gabardine which was invented by Thomas Burberry (founder of Burberry) when he was searching for a water repellent cotton cloth that he could offer to the British armed forces. Soon after its invention the famous trench coat utilized this type of cloth. Aero's Gabardine has an additional sateen finish on top which makes it a little softer to the touch.

I think it's been two years since I asked Will of Aero if he could recommend a slighty softer and less coarse alternative to their super hard wearing cotton drill. We talked about various linings and types of cloth and at one point ( I don't know who mentioned it first) the idea came up to use olive Gabardine (sateen) as a lining.
The first jacket was made with this unusual lining material and I posted a pictorial review of this jacket:

Since then the olive lining has become quite popular on this board and I have received many PMs concerning that choice of lining. It's still my favourite! They may be more colourful (and beautiful!) tartan options and there is the warmer Alpaca but I feel that Gabardine is the perfect all-round option. ...Hard wearing and long lasting as cotton drill, softer and smoother which makes it easier to put the jacket on and off, it's naturally water repellent due to the special weave,and lastly,the muted olive goes well with black and brown and most other colours.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm just used to softer (less durable) liningsI This is my first aero. Got b10 in the sleeve and pocket lining and weathered mackenzie tartan elsewhere. Is the standard cotton drill softer and as durable?

No, as I've tried to explain here...

...the standard cotton is much rougher, especially to bare skin, and it grabs your clothing. I've had a Cafe Racer with black cotton drill which was very uncomfortable when worn with just a t-shirt. Gabardine is much nicer and almost gentle to bare skin.

I also have b-10 in the arms of my Highwayman and its much nicer then the cotton drill.
I regret not using it in my caferacer, that one has black cotton drill.
My oncly concern is that I dont like the color, Im not a big fan of military olive green as everyone here seem to be

But they are supposed to have the garbadine in other colors, so I dont know why i didnt think about that when ordering the last jacket.
Maybe it was an unconsios excuse to not having the perfect jacket yet and in the grave need of another

Aero did have Ricky jackets in gaberdine - not sure if they still do. I know they did a bright red one at one point - that would make for as superb looking lining, especially against a black leather, or a deep, seal finish goatskin.
