Aero Gussets?

I am considering yet another last minute alteration to my Barnstormer order.

Before I call Will (when he returns from vacation), I hoping to have some feedback on my idea.

I strongly dislike when jackets rise up on me when lifting my arms (the goofy shoulder-pad look). After starting a thread on the topic and playing around with my various jackets, I realized that size, shape, and placement of the armholes is not the problem. My most comfortable jackets were the ones that had circular- or oval-shaped gussets under the arms: my G-1 and my faux-A-2.

So here is my idea: adding gussets under the arms of my Barnstormer. Does this seem feasible? If so, is there a shape to the gussets that would work better than another?

They're called "underarm" footballs because they're shaped like little leather football pieces. It's an easy thing to do and Will will know how to get it done for ya!

Not knowing how to do it is different from creating a new pattern to accommodate it. I'm no tailor, but I'm sure that if it were easy to do, they'd offer it. Given the apparent swamped status of Aero, I can see why that would not be worth doing.

On an Aero you won't need the "footballs" as they build the jackets with high and tight armholes. When you lift your arms the jacket doesn't ride up, and you don't look like a flying squirrel under the arms. At least that has been my experience.
