Aero Board Racer Fit and Finish Thoughts

Hi there. Just got this Aero Board Racer fit jacket in, and curious what you all think. I think I may ask to shorten the sleeves a half inch, but otherwise pretty happy with the fit.

Regarding customization, this is Dark Seal Vicenza, which I think I'll keep. Also think the hardware color and style will stay the same. Planning to request handwarmer pockets and to remove the leather underneath the wrist zips as they are basically unusably uncomfortable when I zip them at the moment. Might also ask for the inner pocket to be removed as you can see the outline of it on my left (right side of the picture).

Would also love thoughts on the back style. I think this style gives a nice shape, but open to other ideas.

IMO perfect fit color and hardware and I wouldn't change anything - the sleeve length is personal taste and after wearing some time it's getting slightly shorter anyway (wrinkling)....I would not shorten them by more than 0.5".

It looks like how the Board Racer should fit: a conservative yet timeless snug fit. I think it’s one of Aero’s easiest wearing jackets.

I wouldn’t change anything. Sleeves are not on the short side but not overly long either. The leather looks also very good.

Thanks for the thoughts so far.

Thurston said the same regarding the sleeve length, so I think I'll leave those as is. Handwarmer pockets for me are a must and I don't think I'll be talked out of that. Not totally committed to removing the leather under the wrist zips. I have another board racer (which is just not as nice as this one, which is why I am here. It was not an Aero) with the same issue, and I basically never zipped them up because it was uncomfortable. That being said, it didn't really bother me to leave them open all the time either, and if they are going to be open, maybe I want them to stay in control...

I agree with every plan you have for customizing this jacket. Except: I would keep the leather piece under the cuff zippers because I wouldn’t want the metal zipper to scratch my watches.

My thoughts, from owning an Aero BR.

1. No inside pocket.
2. Custom deep depth chest pockets to fit whatever you need to fit.
3. Keep the cuffs lined, only zip as far down as comfortable. You won't zip the cuffs all the time anyway. Mine zip 3/4 way down for example.
4. No hand warmer pockets. I know you said this is a must, but the fit of this jacket makes this option uncomfortable. Just not enough room to have your hands hanging out in pockets... It is a trim jacket. Use pant pockets or wear gloves!

P.S. Back style looks good.

Thanks again all for the feedback. Decided to leave sleeve length alone and to keep the leather for the wrist gussets.

@jay_cali - Bicep fit is good. No way I'm trimming that, but thanks for the thought.
@handymike - What Kuro said, as well as having a butt that tries to push up jackets and shirts when I walk. Think this will help it stay down.
@Kuro - Hand warmers are going in, haha. Regarding the inner pocket, I might have it removed and just leave the chest pockets alone. To be honest, the most common thing I keep in those pockets is rubbers, anyway, so not much need for a lot of space...

It looks perfect. For the sleeve length, like many had said, it will crease over time and get shortened. It also depends on whether you ride or not. I have talked to both Vanson and Lewis Leathers here in the UK and they both mentioned that if you ride a bike, you are actually leaning forward and pull your sleeves further up, so it makes sense to have it a bit longer than your wrist when you rest your arms. I find that the best length when the jacket is new is when it just reaches your thumb arch.

I have no idea why you aren't keeping this one....

I find an inner pocket is much more useful/practical than zipped hand warmer pockets. Do you plan to actually keep items in them? that will probably show more than something in an inner pocket, or if you keep putting your hands in them they will stretch over time and look terrible.
