Aero B6 Jacket - A few questions

Go on then, since you're so kindly offering to answer more of my questions...I know your two jackets are totally different sizes, but what are the pit-to-pit and waist measurements of both jackets? Ideally I want to get a feel for just how much bigger the D1 is than the B6 if that makes sense?

Thank you! Wish I could get a fit jacket, but living in the UK means I can't get access to that service. I'm actually really annoyed that I just came back from my holidays in Northumberland - about an hours drive from Aero in Galashiels - but I just never got the opportunity to go. Would have been ideal to try them all on. I'm not sure my girlfriend would have let me take up a whole day trying jackets though if I'm honest...!

If you're looking at making a purchase this big (and especially if this won't be your only Aero jacket), I would suggest it's worth making the effort to pay them a visit and get measured up properly, try on some stuff.

The B6 is a more fitted style than the D1, which is a simpler, boxier jacket. The D1 was originally designed for ground crew, but word has it that some fighter-pilots swapped their B3s, which they found clumsy in tight cockpits, for D1s. The B6 arrived as a jacket inspired by the D1 but with the tight cockpits in mind.

Good morning, I'm new of Fedora: this is my first post.
I'm interested in purchasing a B6 jacket too, directly from Aero (I'm from Italy).
I already own an Aero Premier Half Belt size 40, 24.5 back lenght - 25.75 sleeves, that is perfect for me.
Holly from Aero recommended a size 38 for the B6 model, and I think I can agree, since I've always had the size 38 for all my jackets (48 IT).
My doubt is on the back length and sleeves, as I have only the Half Belt model as a reference, which is very different from the B6 (front drop and smaller shoulder width).
Obviously I like a tight jacket, and I think the B6 model is ok, but since I am not a kid, I would like a jacket with a back length that comes at most to the back pockets of trousers/jeans, but at the same time that covers the belt and a sweater at the front.
This happens quietly with the half belt model, for the presence of the front drop: but for the B6 I'm a bit confused.
If I choose the same back length of 24.5" I also have to consider the lack of drop, the consistency of the internal shearling, but also the neck point, for the measurement of the back length, higher than the Half Belt!
I am 172 cm (5ft 7.72in) tall.
You own an Aero B6 model size 38: from the picture it seems to wear as I like, and it seems to have the right length for me!
powersci could you indicate which measurements are in your jacket (back length, sleeve length, shoulder width and pit to pit size) e what is your height??
It would be of great help to my choice.

Hi Vezio, welcome to The Fedora Lounge! I'm 5'10" (177.8 cm). Here are my B-6 measurements (all in inches):
Shoulder-shoulder: 20.25"
Back Length: 25.5"
Arm length: 25.5"
Pit-pit: 20"

By adjusting measurements of your jacket to my height, I think I will choose, for my B6, a back length of 24.75-25 ", a sleeve length of 25" and a size 38.
Does your jacket look to you of the right length, or short?
In the photo of your account, you wear the jacket with the zip open: how is it with the zip closed?
Does it cover the trousers/jeans belt in the front?
And in the backside?
To the eye, it would seem so!

Has anyone owned botha B-6 and an Anj-4 an willing to compare/contrast. I'm a little torn.

Hey everybody, I do not want to open a new topic for my B-6 question. I am about to order my future winter jacket and do not know for which size I should go. I hope somebody here has a similar collection of jackets as I have plus a B-6 and could advise. I own a 46 Aero Boardracer and a 46 Aero Ridley. The Boardracer fits perfectly in the chest and is on the wider side towards the bottom. The Ridley overall is a little more relaxed. Enough room to layer in the chest and shoulders. I don't want the B-6 to look super big on me. I am not sure whether I should go with a 46 or 44. My actual chest size is 43" relaxed and 44.5" expanded. Looking forward to get some feedpack (I am 6.6 tall, 200cm). As reference the pictures of the BR and the Ridley.

I do not have an Aero B6 but I have one from Eastman in size 46. I find that these vintage style military jackets tend to be a rather trim fit as do most of the motorcycle jackets I own. My Aero Bootlegger is a 44 and it fits comfortably but in Vanson I need a 46.

Thanks ElMarro, so you would advise to go for a size 46 then. Denny from Aero recommended a size 44 and a taper towards the bottom. Looking at my chest measurements I would consider myself rather a 44 than a 46. However, I remember it was impossible to wear a 44 Boardracer...

Hmmmm,
I would probably defer to Danny here of course since he is the one making the jacket and he also knows how your other two Aeros fit you. One thing that might make the B6 easier to wear than the board racer is the fact that it has fairly wide shoulders and a nice taper down from the chest to the waist. It has a nice masculine silhouette.
