As much as I LOVE this jacket, the truth is that it’s one size too small. I knew it would be when I bought it. I had it on eBay but took it down... I can definitely wear it, but it’s a t-shirt/ worn open only affair. I knew this jacket wasn’t going to stay the minute I received my vintage Hercules HB.
This jacket, I believe, is Insurrection Vintage’s (now Thurston Bro’s) garden variety 30’s HB. Notable differences are the throat latch, heavy canvas pocket bags and the corduroy hem guard. Black cotton drill liner. It’s also cut very trim in the sleeves, please note the chest zip pull, I added a bit of character there by way of a sterling silver axe.
I believe back in the day these sleeves were referred to as “ Japanese sleeves” as they were cut that way for that market. It came to me in nearly new condition and I’ve worn it sporadically around the house and out maybe twice. the cut is very aggressive with regard to the waist taper and front drop.
Measurements:
22.5” p2p
Shoulders: 18.5”
Back length: 25”
Hem: 20.5”
Sleeve length ( straight down): 26.5”
$500 (what I paid) OBO shipped conus, Canada or overseas I will do at cost but I’m reluctant as postal nightmares abound these days and the last jacket I shipped to Europe took 2 months to arrive.
I am 5’11 205lbs Fit pics:
