That's a great look, Bob. We really need to get back together and share a campfire. It has only been 20 years since that trip in East Texas.

Thanks Harp! Those boots are a modified 1904 (?) marching boot that Tom Mattimore up in Laramie made for me. He simply made em 12" tall! . I really like em!! Used vibram sole.

Crossing a small creek today on our way to Catawba Falls. It was a balmy 23 degrees today. Not the kind of weather to try rock hopping across the creek, but to take it safe and just wade across.

My son and I took a hike this morning out to some cliffs overlooking the Linville Gorge. It was so windy I had to take my hat off for fear of it blowing off over the edge.
