Couldn't let this lie at an estate sale this afternoon. Too large for me, but surely one of you gents with substantial melons will want to give it a home.
Old, dusty, moth-bitten Adam Long Premier. It's HUGE!!!! Size 7 1/2!
After a bit of a brush and a pass through the steamer it looked like this:
5 1/2" crown, 2 3/4" bound brim, 5/8" binding, 1 3/4" sweat. Sweat's in perfect shape, still firmly attached to the hat. Several moth bites, with the largest crater right on the front of the brim on the top side. (Wouldn't you know!) Stained 1 3/4" ribbon with faux wind trolley. Felt's soft and malleable.
Anyway, it's a grand old hat that needed to escape that tool shed where it's languished for who knows how may decades.
