A fedora wearer spotted today!

My wife and I went up to the Arkansas Ozarks today to visit with her parents.
Imagine my great surprise when I rounded the curve down at the Little Red River.
I spied this older gentleman with his straw fedora. As he was busy trout fishing I did not bother him, but snapped this photo from behind.
I was not real close but it looked to be a pretty good hat.[thanks to the digital age camera!}
He was wearing it well.

maybe we can have a thread with fedoras we have spotted.
I think Ricardo had a similar thread this past spring but had no luck finding it.

Me too!

I'm in Seattle WA for the next two weeks and I've got my Borsalino on. It's cold and wet up here! So if you see a tall, good lookin' guy in a beige Borso (looking pretty confident!) and a long overcoat, it's just a fellow FL'r out and about.

I used to do a lot of fly fishing down on the Little Red River, have caught some big trout over the years, matter of fact, the best time to fish over there at a place called Cow Shoals on the Little Red, is in late Nov when the brown trout are running, I have caught some nice 5 to 7 lb ones over the years, but it is catch and releash at Cow Shoals.

I always wear a nice beater when fly fishing, just adds to the moment, "a man has to look good at what ever he is doing"

And it is always nice to see a fedora on the river, kinda gives it the "River run through it" kinda feel !

Very nice....I fished it a few weeks ago at the Swinging Bridge. Fishing the Little Red started a fly fishing addiction that was almost cured by a guide job out in Colorado.
Turning your hobby into a job is not always the smartest thing to do.

Ahhhhhhhh! New trend?! I am just getting used to being the only guy with a hat around for miles. It might be a cool idea for it to catch on but I am always worried where it will go.
I don't need to be trendy when I was there first. Even scarier---would that make me avante garde?!

I made an observation this weekend that the best costumes at the wedding and after party all had some form of hat. My own Pork Pie included. There were a few men gangster suits sporting appropriate hats and one person who dressed as V from the movie V for vendetta,
