You have hit on the style for you!

I think that the brim-up style really works for you. On you as a younger man (hey, I'm 55 and practically prehysterical) and with your facial shape, I think brim-up looks contemporary and very stylish.

I'd keep it as your #1 option for hat shaping.

And both the other hats look very promising...it will be interesting to hear about how you like them. The Homburg will definitely be a more formal look - you may have to resort to a coat and tie! (And for a 23-year-old, that may be considered major dressing up...):cheers1:

Well, the dress code where I work is business casual, but, since i'm a manager I can get away with a coat and tie, which I have no problem with. I actually like dressing up. I've always said... there's never anything wrong with being too dressed up, that way, you always know that as soon as you walk into a room, you're likely the best dressed the person there.

Or maybe I'm just modeling the side with the feather, by the way, is there a special term for the feather in a hat? Is it like a.. garnish?

An ivory toothpick with an artificial olive or a tiny umbrella as may be found in resort type tropical libations could be substituted for the feather. Even a sprig of parsley might be a welcome change from a beautiful yet hum-drum plume.

Eternally in your debt for you inspirational post.

The hat is Ab Fab on you! :cool2:

Funny you mention feather substitutions there... quick story!
Today was the first day wearing my new hat to work. I didn't get any comments (good or otherwise), but I only wore it in, and when I got to the breakroom I secured it in my locker. Anyways, myself and the other management were getting off, someone was taking a picture for something or other. Someone suggested I put my hat on for the pic and everyone agreed and mentioned how smart it looked. So I put it on, out of the blue, one of the girls I work with produces an Ace of Spades from her coat and sicks it in my hat band. So I used the prop, and I cant wait to see the pic. That's all!

Thanks everyone for all the nice words about my hat. I'm still meaning to get some pics of it with that front bit of the brim down, i'll get around to it.

I like the hat though personally I think the brim should be tweaked down. :fedora:

Yes, i've been wearing it lately with the front right side of the brim down, i'm basically copying the Frank Sinatra "Come Fly With Me" brim. :)

You blindsided me. I thought you were going to say she raced up to you and put her arm around you for the photo, and then decided to spend the rest of the day with you.

I took this today while snapping some shots of a couple new acquisitions. This is the same hat, just with the flipped down brim like I mentioned. What do you all think? I like it better like this, though depending on what i'm wearing (or my mood) it also looks great brim up!

Nice!

Mr_Misanthropy, very nice hat. Personally, I prefer the new way you are wearing it. But the nice thing is, it just depends on how you feel the particular day you are wearing the hat, brim up or brim down.

Congratulations!...KC :cheers1:

Lookin' Good

There was a post about being to young to wear a fedora. Was that you? Anyway, your pictures prove that you are never to young (looking) to wear a nice hat. My godson is 13 and I have him wearing fedoras all the time now. Not Kangols or skater hats, vintage ones. Brim up seems to be the way to go for you. Now all you need is a saxophone!
