Breaking the jacket in is a difficult strenuous procedure, after this is done you have a comfortable companion to share life with. It just sounds like you haven't experienced this process yet. I believe in you though. Being a die hard leather jacket wearer isn't for the faint of heart. Every one cant be a marine, everyone cant wear leather jackets. Life goes on

35 years of collecting and wearing leathers and I don't click with this idea of jackets requiring determined machismo. In reality many leather jackets are always uncomfortable no matter how tough you are or how long you persist with them. I had a 10 year-old Aero half-belt in CXL, amongst others, that never got comfortable. If you want comfort in leather, a goatskin G1 is your instant best friend.

imagine if the leather trousers is brown or olive or camel and not shiny, with straight leg and double knee perhaps diamond quilted on the double knee part, riveted on the edges, perhaps it would look like the ultimate workgear x steampunk speeder rider x space bountyhunter pantsu

Leather jackets certainly are not as comfortable as many other types of jackets. Obviously, the leather makes a difference. My deerskin jacket is my most worn due to the comfort. With that said, nothing makes me feel as awesome as a leather jacket so I've actually been wearing them more and more lately. My biggest issue with them is that they are uncomfortable to wear while driving so I have to keep taking them off and putting them back on when driving around and doing errands. I'm hoping the sleeve shortening I've done will make them even more comfortable.

I think I would at least attempt it, wonder who makes really good leather trousers? Langlitz? LW? Tenjin? I can think of a few other japanese companies as well

That sounds like a fun idea, you can always draw it to have a better idea on how it would look

Biggest problem with this idea is that right now, this exact look is very popular in women's fashion. Seems like every woman out there is wearing "leather" pants - basically shiny leggings but still - combined with either a sherpa denim jacket or one of the army coats. Or something of a kind. So at this moment, I'm not sure it's even possible to pull it off.

I'd sometimes wore my old Uvex motorcycle leather pants paired with a sweater or something, they were those true bike trousers, carrot legs if unzipped, had padded pits on the knees, even had that velcro heavy armor bit for the shin. Funny how I had no problem wearing it then and now it seems no way...

actually, I ordered a custom straight leg cinchback jeans, with quilted double knee, and seat, 2 days ago
but not in leather though, just sanforized 19oz

I feared 19oz denim will blow out on the ass you know because they are sub 21oz, and I plan to use it for cycling a bit, tonal stealth stitches everywhere for sure

Just reinforce the inside with some tougher fabric?

to this picture, which I've taken this afternoon;

It's pretty easy to imbue denim with some wear character, and this isn't even raw or selvedge. Just plain old indigo denim. If I entered it into the 30 Day Challenge thread, I suspect it might look properly excellent by the month end.

I think i would rather risk "blowing out on the ass" than walk around with a padded quilted ass...

Blowing out the ass has long been an issue for me, and it's nothing to do with any of my trousers.

It all depends on the denim. My old Levi's trucker jacket, made in the 70's in Canada, STILL doesn't have a single crease set in and I wore it for at least 10 years. IH begins creasing in minutes.

In fairness, I started this jacket off with a cold water soak in the bathtub before I wore it for the first time. The sleeves have set in some beautiful starter creases.

Nice creases already on the jacket, with raw the extra creases and fade is helped by their starch content in the fabric, so even if you wear non raw if you just starch them a little either by making your own tapioka starch or buy starch spray then you can have some crispness in your soft washed jeans that normally hard to crease.

Btw what a strong hate toward the most funtional place of placing a padding on a pair of pants, i dislike contrast stitching, back pocket arcuate or fading from strange item placed inside the back pocket, but i really dont mind the padding on the seat, it is functional piece to reduce wear and tear, and adding extra comfort on hard bicycle saddle, and strangely i feel nothing against it visually same like shoulder, knee, or elbow pad, they are there to give extra padding, maybe you guys imagine quilting on leather that catches light because it is mostly on the shoulder that get shined on, and look bumpy since leather stretch and glossy, but in my case it is facing down so it wont catches light, and made of heavyweight starched raw that wont look bumpy pillowy at all, it is going to be my biking and cycling jeans most likely the only jeans i would have fading on by doing outdoorsy stuff

Get a bit more padding in the bicycle seat, not the trousers! Padded ass is just far too BLUF. It just is. Maybe it’s a western thing but that ratchets up the bluf factor so far it’s not even measurable on a scale. I like the design sans that feature though. Like a pair of chainsaw chaps.

OK, I'll move the patch layer on the inside from outside there is only single line of stitches in the same color of the jeans, not quilted, so if the outside layer blowout there is still another layer as basis for darning the hole, 38oz butt and knee, the pants will outlast me

... I live in the east, but who know it might send the wrong message to some bluf tourist from those harley club
