And here are a couple of men's belt buckles from the 1933-'34 World's Fair. They are coated in pearlized plastic (bakelite?). The first one has glitter; looks like some kid scratched his initials into it:

I believe they did make matching tie bars to go with the buckles... not sure about Century of Progress ties... they may have, not sure, have never seen one yet.

I just picked up this World's Columbian Exhibition Chicago1893 booklet at the flea market

it has a red hard back cover with illustrations of all the buildings of the Chicago exhibition of 1893
