Ton, can you talk a bit about the feel of the goat? I know you ordered the thick stuff, but does it drape?i know it’s still new, but I’m interested in how it feels as it breaks in.
Thanks!

Tbh goat only marginally interested me in the past. But after this I’m a HUGE fan. Insanely easy to wear but still has body to it. I’ve got half a mind to change my Aero HWM order to goat. If they had navy blue goat I would. I’m just loving the snot out of this jacket. If you would have told me three weeks ago one of my all time favorite jackets would be a goat skin 5 Star I would’ve laughed out loud. Things have changed! I’m curious to see how it holds up. I’ll be wearing it quite regularly. The temptation is to fire off several more orders and I’m fighting that urge literally by the minute. I just want to be sure it will hold up. I see no reason why it won’t. Time will tell. I would like other hide and liner options as well.

If I could go back and do any single thing on this jacket differently....I wouldn’t. I apologize for the crappy light in every pic. The sun is not available to me of late.

Edit: one thing I would change is the tag. This is an area that needs help. I have a few ideas for this but I’m not sure if Shawn would be receptive to them. At a bare minimum the “genuine leather” label needs to be dropped. A label indicated which beast provided the hide would go a very long way.

These jackets are far too nice for a genuine leather tag, and I promptly removed mine.

If he'd only cut the label in two, keeping the 5 star upper part, it'd be a huge improvement.

Agreed. Or something a bit more military looking. Like a badge or something...

I was thinking the same thing and I don't even own one....yet!!! This is marketing. The Label needs to be more vintage looking in my opinion. And I would spell out FIVE STAR. TOTALLY agree that they should also have specific hide labels---Goatskin, Horsehide, Buffalo etc. These are the rough edges of an emerging company that, if it continues to flourish, will look back on the early labeling with perhaps a bit of a cringe--the way you look back at something you did when you were younger that you know you've gotten better at since.

The new labels will come as will the boxed shipping. And then, on the secondary market, people will be all stoked to get one of the early RED AND BLUE labels!!!!

@ton312 forgot to ask if the leather is squeaky on yours? My trucker is still announcing my presence everytime I move or breathe
LOL. Very much so. It’s not meant for stealth. It did quiet a bit after it was pretty well soaked waiting to pick my kiddo up from school the other day but yeah. It speaks, or sings...reaching for my wallet creates a symphony of squeaks. I came up with Vanson though. I’m used to that.

^^ how much powder though? I recently acquired a jacket and had to remove the excess powder at the seams as it made the jacket look discolored lol

I had asked him if he could line a jacket in suede. He said he could but added , “this lining some might find it “offensive” but I think lost in the translation was offensive = unstylish. I had a good laugh. I did wind up changing my request to - inside collar and inside sleeve cuffs lined in golden suede like on the suede trucker.
